Large Animals
Infrared Technology is a valuable addition to large animal
diagnostics performed by a veterinarian or other qualified diagnostician.
Primarily used for horses and other large animals, Infrared (IR) Thermography
will detect signs of
- inflammation
- muscular-skeletal injuries
- soft tissue injuries
- nerve damage
- infection
Surface temperature is the first thing to change when a
problem develops. An IR scan will display the heat signatures that show exactly
where and how bad these problems may be. Regular monitoring with an IR scan can
reveal potential problems weeks before they are visually or physically
detectable. If a problem is suspected a veterinarian or other qualified person
may view the results of the IR scan to assess and diagnose the area of concern.
IR scan services include:
- A comprehensive infrared scan including 40+ images of
the animal's critical muscular and skeletal areas.
- A formal report complete with color pictures showing
the hot and cool spots caused by the inflammation or injury.

We employ technicians that are trained in capturing
infrared images.
The role of the technician is to provide pictures to assist qualified personnel
in diagnosing problems, similar to an X-ray technician.
